Google To Launch Nexus Customer Support App Report

Google To Launch Nexus Customer Support App Report

Hi
Google is hard at work on an app that will offer live customer support on Nexus devices, according to a new media report.

Google Play image — The Nexus 5. Google Play image — The Nexus 5. Coined Google Support by Android Police, the app would allow Nexus owners to share their screens with a Google support worker. The worker would then be able to help customers solve any and all issues related to the Smartphone.

Seemingly, such an app would enable Google’s support workers to identify problems in a timely
fashion because they would have the advantage of seeing for themselves what is on customers’ handsets — which is certainly more reliable than going off the descriptions of phone owners.

Android Police has given the rumor a “9 out of 10 confidence level” due to the “reliability” of the source.

“This appears to be yet another sign that Google is doubling down on making Nexus devices more mainstream and accessible to non-enthusiast smartphone users,” reads the Android Police report.

“A live support app is a key piece of the puzzle when trying to build a ‘full-service’ Smartphone experience. If the Google Support app launches with the release of the HTC-built Marlin and Sailfish Nexus phones, that means you’ll be able to buy a phone from Google, buy phone service from Google (in the U.S.), buy a warranty from Google (in select countries), and now get live on-device support from Google.”

As the publication points out, Google Support will not be a certainty until Google announces it itself.
