I'm running ubuntu 16.04 and a brother dcp-375cw, a printer and scanner all in one. i downloaded the drivers and used the driver install tool by brother. this is the result: the system says the drivers are installed.. Scanner also works fine using brscan3 driver; the driver also needs activating. in ubuntu 11.10/12.04, this is also necessary to get the scanner working.printer and scanner both works fine after this.. [solved] howto: install brother mfc printers and/or scanners drivers in ubuntu 10.04 or later or mint 11 if you go to brother solutions center : brother driver for linux distributions , you should be able to easily download and install your printer driver with ease..
Can i install my scanner drivers through wine, using the windows driver cd packaged with my scanner? i am using the brother dcp-7030 scanner and my system is running ubuntu 11.10. i need help to set up scanning.. Installing the driver manually isn't very difficult either, because brother has issued a generic install script for that: the driver install tool. with that, you can install not only the printer driver, but also (for a multifunctional printer) the scanner driver.. If it is a newer model usb scanner, it is likely that it will work immediately without any further driver or software installations. hardware support component scanners - check which scanners are supported in your specific ubuntu release..
